The main jobs on board

Catering Department :( Chief Steward/Cook/GS)

CATERING RATINGS
Provide a variety of catering services for the crew and passengers on ferries and cruise liners. Most cargo-carrying vessels will have a cook or cook-steward on board.
Available Entry Level Courses
1 B.Sc.[Maritime Hospitality Studies]
Duration: 3 years
Age Limit: 25 years
Entry Requeiment: 12th Standard passed from a recognized Baord, with aggregate 50% marks and minimum 50% marks in English subject at 12th or 10th standard exam.
2 6 months Certificate Course in Maritime Catering
Duration: 3 years
Age Limit: 25 years
Entry Requeiment: Pass with aggregate 40% marks in 12th standard from any stream, from a recognized Board with English as a subject. The candidate to obtain at least 40% marks in English either at 10th or 12th standard.
Cook (Ship's Cook, Chief Cook)
Food planning, preparation and stock taking/provisions ordering, must hold a Ship's Cook certificate.
Steward
Cleans and maintains accommodation areas.
